I began my professional career as an 8th grade English teacher, but I realized after seven years of teaching that I had another call in life. After considerable thought, I decided to pursue a Masters Degree in Community Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Upon graduation, I accepted a position as a senior staff counselor at UNC’s counseling center where I was employed from 2004 through 2013. There I worked with both traditional and non-traditional college-aged students. In addition, I have experience working with individuals, couples and families through UNC’s employee assistance program.
I value each client I encounter. People who know me characterize me as down-to-earth, open-minded and accepting. Flip flops are my shoe of choice, and I believe a good belly laugh can be healing. It is my daily intention to live by the philosophy: To understand all is to forgive all. I am fiercely passionate about what I do for a living, and the best compliment I can receive is that my clients sense it.
